To help everyone understand the installation process of the wall system more deeply, today we take the light steel keel installation method as a case, to take everyone to in-depth understand the two typical installation methods of 3M™ quick-install quick-dismantle wall system.
Installation Method 1: Snap Fit
The butt-fastening method is an installation method in which 3M™ mushroom fasteners are bonded to the decorative panel and the keel in alignment respectively, and then the decorative panel and the keel are fastened in alignment.
Step 1.
Use 3M special surface cleaner to clean the back of the decorative panel and the keel surface.
Step 2.
Use positioning tools to position all the positions on the decorative panel and the keel where the mushroom fasteners need to be bonded respectively.
Step 3.
Apply 3M adhesion promoter to the positioning positions of the decorative panel and the keel respectively.
Step 4.
Paste and press 3M™ mushroom fasteners on the positions where 3M adhesion promoter is applied on the decorative panel and keel surface.
Step 5.
After aligning the mushroom fasteners on the decorative panel and the keel accurately, fasten them firmly, and the installation of the decorative panel is completed.
The double-sided tape method is an installation method in which two mushroom fasteners are pre-fastened together, the release liner is torn off so that both sides are adhesive surfaces, and then the decorative panel and the keel are bonded like double-sided tape.
The installation steps 1, 2 and 3 of the double-sided tape method are similar to the butt-fastening method, completing the rough positioning, cleaning and adhesion promoter treatment of the surface to be bonded.
Step 4: Pre-fasten the two 3M™ mushroom fasteners together, then tear off the release film on one side, bond the mushroom fastener to the positioning position of the keel and press it.
Step 5: Tear off the release film on the other side of the mushroom fastener on the keel, align and fit the decorative panel and the keel, press firmly and use a rubber hammer to make the mushroom fastener fully fit with the keel and the decorative panel, and the installation of the decorative panel is completed.
Comparison of two installation methods
From the comparison results of the above two installation methods, it can be seen that the two solutions have their own advantages under different conditions:
1. If pre-positioning processing can be carried out during the production of plates and keels with the help of tools or automated processes, and gaps need to be reserved between the panels, it is recommended to use the butt-fastening method for installation, so as to obtain better immediate strength after installation.
2. If pre-positioning processing cannot be carried out, it is recommended to use the double-sided tape method, which simplifies the installation process and makes the installation faster.
